At that time, I felt called to respond to the Win lose or tie I am a yankees fan till I die shirt Besides,I will do this grief and pain that my community was experiencing. I also felt called to support my husband. Nearly a decade ago, I met a scientist in a bar for a drink. I thought he seemed interesting, and I appreciated that unlike so many people in D.C., he didnt care about what I did for a living, as long as it made me happy. We have always supported one another professionally, but from a distance. We understood little about what each other did and were both OK with that. Matt had been taking some time off from work and was figuring out what he wanted to do next when COVID-19 began to dominate headlines. I should add that in addition to being a scientist, he is a microbiologist and has spent his entire career in working in a laboratory. Because he is who he is, he felt compelled to return to work and has been supporting COVID-19 testing for a local county with a focus on underserved communities.
It has been a challenging few months for us. We know we have so much to be thankful for: our health, our jobs, our very adorable dog. Still, we are exhausted. And as much as we love each other, we sometimes get sick of each other. While he envies my safe space at home, Im jealous that he gets to leave the Win lose or tie I am a yankees fan till I die shirt Besides,I will do this house each day and interact with people other than me.Because of the work that I do, I know we are both grieving. We grieve separately and together for the routines we each had, that we didnt realize were sacred. For the family and friends we dont get to see. For the plans we had for 2020. Its heavy and its hard, and Im here to tell you that if youre like us and have lots to be grateful for, but still find yourself struggling right now, thats OK. In the midst of managing all of the uncertainty in our individual lives and in the world right now (hello upcoming election), it is OK to not feel quite like yourself.
